Expertise domains participating in the network include, but are not limited to: Human Anatomy (UCL, LTM-IOR); Medical Imaging (UCL, INRIA, UNIGE, CRS4); Biomechanics (SMI, LTM-IOR, EPFL); Computer Graphics & Animation (UNIGE, UCL, EPFL, INRIA, CRS4); Sports, Rehabilitation & Orthopaedics (LTM-IOR, UCL); Knowledge Management (VUB, UNIGE, EPFL).
Local objectives of the network partners
Motor control analysis: simulating complete lower limb system with simplified components such as muscle action lines
Computer graphics: providing efficient, visually believable, and medically appropriate, simulation of humans
Biomechanics: accurately characterizing tissues and providing mechanical simulation
Image processing: developing methods for the accurate shape and motion modelling of individual organs from images, considering their mechanical and physiological behaviour
Orthopaedics: supplying approaches based on physiology, experience and high-level factors (the age for example) in order to resolve particular pathological problems
