Yanlin Luo and Daniel Espino have joined us as ER

Yanlin Luo is a Marie Curie Experienced Researcher in the Visual Computing group of CRS4 (Center for Advanced Studies, Research and Development in Sardinia). She holds a bachelor degree in mathematics, a master degree in computer science and a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in China. Prior to joining CRS4, she was a NFS supported visiting researcher in USA. Her main research interests include virtual reality, computer graphics and visualization.

Daniel Espino is currently a researcher at the Laboratorio Tecnologia Medica (Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli di Bologna). In 2005 he obtained his PhD in Biomedical Physics & Bio-Engineering at the University of Aberdeen, where he obtained his BSc in 2001. Following his PhD, he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Junior Fellowship which he held at Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, and was subsequently a Research Fellow at the University of Auckland. His research experience includes modelling & mechanical testing of soft tissues (e.g. heart valves, intervertebral discs & cartilage).

He has been invited to serve: as a Conference committee member (for Systems Biology and Bioengineering) at the World Congress on Engineering, London (2007 & 2008); and on the International editorial board for the Journal of Clinical Rehabilitative Tissue Engineering Research.

He is also interested in the promotion of science & engineering, being involved in initiatives such as ‘Noise’ http://www.noisemakers.org.uk

During the last 3D Anatomical Human meeting in Bologna, various technical trainings took place:

  • Ethics in Research 

  • ITK and VTK Technical Training

  • Soft tissue behaviour Technical Training

  • Finite Elements Method Technical Training

3dph Workshop: deadline extension

The 3D Anatomical Human project will be present as organizer and participant to the workshop on 3D Physiological Human that will be held in Zermatt, Switzerland the 1-4 December 2008.

The deadline for submission has been extended!
